Parisian Chic: Sequins + Striped Top

I have had an obsession with all things French for as long as I can remember. The City of Light, pain au chocolat, berets, balconies with flowerpots, romantic language, croissants, open air cafés and cheese all have a special place in my heart {or my tummy}.

I am also becoming obsessed with this skirt. Seriously, is there anything that doesn’t look good with it? Today I’m feeling like a très chic Parisian in a classic black and white striped top, gray cardi, black knee socks and platform boots. The striped shirt, otherwise known as the Breton top, is a must-have item for every mademoiselle, thanks to Coco Chanel. {Who better to take style lessons from?}

The French have a laissez-faire approach to fashion. They are all about unexpected, effortless combinations, and this outfit embodies this style perfectly. Throw on a simple belt made from luxurious leather to add structure. If you’ve been blessed with legs that go on for miles, don a pair of simple black flats with this ensemble for the true Parisian style. That particular advice does not apply to me, but as the French say, “C’est la vie.”
